Beta Hunt is situated within the Kambalda Dome, approximately 25 km south of Kambalda and 600 km east of Perth in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia. The terrain is characterised by flat, semi-arid lateritic plains dominated by red fine-grained dust (red dirt), imposing severe abrasion and particulate ingestion challenges on all surface plant, mobile equipment, and HVAC filtration systems. B2B Lifecycle and Operational Status
Beta Hunt is an actively operating underground mine under Westgold Resources Limited following its August 2024 merger with Karora Resources. The mineral tenure is subleased from Gold Fields Limited. The operation runs continuous FIFO rotational rosters (typically 8/6 and 14/7 schedules) flown ex-Perth into Kalgoorlie-Boulder Airport, with DIDO supplementing local Goldfields workforce. Camp logistics, catering, medical, and telecommunications infrastructure are mission-critical B2B procurement categories for uninterrupted operational continuity.
Engineering and Extraction Infrastructure
Beta Hunt employs sub-level open stoping with cemented paste fill as the primary underground mining method, targeting high-grade gold lodes (including the historically significant Father's Day Vein). Run-of-mine ore is processed through a primary crushing and ball mill grinding circuit, feeding a gravity-gold recovery circuit complemented by a CIL (Carbon-in-Leach) processing train. The circuit demands continuous supply of:
- High-chrome grinding media and mill liners rated for abrasive komatiite-hosted ore
- Activated carbon, cyanide reagents, and pH-control lime dosing systems
- Underground paste fill reticulation pipework and high-pressure pumping assemblies
